Absolute Radio 70s goes internet radio only

Station closes DAB and Sky TV services

Absolute Radio Screen ShotAbsolute Radio 70s closed its DAB and Sky TV services on 23rd May 2018 becoming an internet only radio channel.

Listeners will still be able to access the service in the following ways:

  • Online at absoluteradio.co.uk
  • Absolute Radio free mobile app available to download for iOS and Android phones and tablets
  • Smart speakers/voice activated devices (e.g Amazon Echo. Say ‘Alexa, play Absolute Radio 70s’)
  • WiFi enabled internet radios
  • Smart TV and Apple TV apps

The company is making this change ‘because there’s only a limited amount of space available on digital radios and there are some new stations coming. We’re making way for some new people, but we’re still here bringing you loads of pop, rock, soul and disco in all of the ways listed above.’

Programming will remain the same for both the 70s and other ‘decade’ stations. Listeners who register with a free Absolute Radio account will hear more music and fewer adverts as well as being able to flick between all of Absolute Radio ‘decade’ family channels.

The HiRes lossless FLAC streams remain unchanged and the URLs can be found in our article on CD Quality Internet Radio.
