AS Monaco sign a deal with Playzer music streaming

Partnership deal includes club’s esports team

French soccer giants AS Monaco sign a deal with French music and entertainment streaming service Playzer. As part of the agreement with the 2016/17 Ligue 1 champions, Playzer will become the official streamer of both the football teams and their esports team.

The arrangement will see Playzer take charge of pre-match music at Monaco’s Stade Louis II stadium, while also benefiting from branding opportunities all around the venue on match days. Playzer will also be incorporated into content creation around the esports side and on the club’s multimedia channels.

Juli Ferré, sales and marketing director at AS Monaco, said, “We intend to use our respective knowledge and experience to bring the best experience to our professional team and esports team supporters.”

The club’s esports team is on the rise, with AS Monaco competing across four titles – Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), NBA 2K, Rocket League and Gran Turismo – while the outfit recently entered into a digital partnership with Magic Gaming, the esports team of the Orlando Magic National Basketball Association (NBA) franchise.

Playzer president Philippe Moyal added,  “It is a great pride to participate in the digital promotion and content creation associated with AS Monaco, a historical and emblematic club of the European scene, a first for a streaming music actor.”

Created in 2013, Playzer if the first player on the French market to provide multi-screens, on-demand, music video clips, totally ad free. Playzer meets young people’s listening habits (84% of 15/30 years old listen to music using internet videos – MeltyMetrix Study: Dans les oreilles des jeunes (15-30 ans) 2014) by providing a content and artist rich platform of video clips.

In partnership with Sony Music, Universal Music, Warner Music and Because Music, Playzer offer the widest choice of legal steaming video clips on the market, with more than 100,000 clips and 9,500 artists.
