BMW launches Connected Music streaming solution which integrates Deezer, Spotify and Napster services into its Connected Package Professional. The new in-car music streaming solution has been developed for the BMW OS 7.0 infotainment system which is offered as standard equipment in the high-end Connected Package Professional package.

The BMW Connected service will be available to customers at no charge for 3 years giving unrestricted use with no additional data or roaming charges when using Connected Music. The new service will initially be available in 14 European countries and more streaming services such as Apple Music are promised soon.

Connected Music allows you to access your favourite music library from Deezer, Spotify or Napster directly into your OS 7.0-equipped audio system. You simply have to login into your premium account and your personal music library is instantly synchronized and fully accessible via the infotainment system, with all your personalized settings and playlists readily available in the car.

Additionally Connected Music is more convenient than using a smartphone as it relies on the car’s embedded SIM card for its internet connection with no extra charges being incurred. The infotainment’s system will also automatically store a copy of a song in the car’s internal hard drive allowing you to create a useful offline music library.

The Connected Music solution is also integrated with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant to give you ‘hands free’ voice control. You can tell the car to play a specific tune or request a specific artist album, by saying “Hey BMW, play the track Happy”, for example. As well, you can also instruct the voice assistant to play your favourite songs such as “Play my favourites” or issue commands like “cancel the shuffle function”.
