SuperStereo Chile is back ‘on the air’ after recovering from last week’s devastating flood which completely ruined its studio and servers. The station has changed its location and reestablished its streaming servers which went live on the 23rd March at 5am New York time. SuperStereo Chile suffers damaging flood and is now only broadcasting SuperStereo 1 from a backup location. The station put out the following announcement, “We have suffered a flood in our broadcasting plant, damaging most of our equipment, we are currently broadcasting with our emergency transmitter on channel 1 from another location, we hope to be back as soon as possible, at least it will be about 5 days before that.” We’ll keep this post updated […]

Streaming now makes up 88% of Swiss music sales with total sales of CHF 233.9 million in 2023, 5% more than in the previous year according to IFPI Switzerland. Music streaming services such as YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify grew to CHF 206.1 million (+8%) and now accounts for 88% of the overall market. Dutch music industry grew 9% in 2023 with streaming being the main source of income according to NVPI Audio, the Dutch music industry association. In 2023, the total turnover of the Dutch music industry amounted to 299 million euros, an increase of 9% compared to 2022. Turnover from streaming music increased by 11% to almost 240 million euros. German music sales continued to grow in 2023

German music sales continued to grow in 2023 with revenue reaching €2.21 Bn – up 6.3% on 2022 according to the BVMI in recently released figures. The majority of sales, 81.5%, were generated from the digital business, which grew by 7.9%, driven by audio streaming (+8.4%), which now has a market share of 74.8%. TIDAL cuts the cost of HiRes streaming by combining its HiFi Plus and HiFi tiers into a single subscription tier called TIDAL. Available from the 10th April, the streamer is updating the pricing across all of its 61 countries giving subscribers access to the complete 110 million track catalogue.
