Key statistics for 2023
- A year of self-love: Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers” was the most streamed song globally, both US and in the UK.
- Beyonce’s “RENAISSANCE” and SZA’s “SOS” were among the top 5 most listened to albums not just by fans in the US, but worldwide. Harry Styles’ “Harry’s House” took the top slot in the UK.
- The top artist in the UK was Taylor Swift and in the US it was The Weeknd, who also wins the top spot globally
- Kenya Grace is picked as the top emerging artist to watch in 2024 by Deezer.

2023 saw the release of long-awaited albums by Miley Cyrus, Bad Bunny, boygenius and Lana Del Rey. “Barbie – The Album” delivered a flurry of featured artists. Taylor Swift released several new albums in 2023, and after nearly two decades, a brand-new Rolling Stones album finally dropped.
