LG Electronics has revealed a strategic partnership with Stingray Music to upgrade its free, ad‑supported audio service, LG Radio+, available on LG Smart TVs running webOS 6.0 and above across multiple markets including the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Korea.

Elevating free audio streaming for Smart TV users

As part of the alliance, LG Radio+ will now deliver over 200 music channels and hundreds of thousands of songs, curated by Stingray’s global team of music experts. The new experience aims to be broader and smarter, with playlists that reflect local and international tastes.

A smarter listening experience

The redesigned app brings more than expanded content. LG is layering in advanced audio features such as AI Sound Pro and Clear Voice Pro to enhance how the music and podcasts sound. These tools optimise audio based on genre, environment, and user preference.

The UI receives a refresh too: a new side‑menu structure gives quick access to Home, Music, On‑Air and Podcasts; a “Favorites” page enables listeners to save preferred channels; and podcasts, live radio, and music playlists live side by side for simpler navigation.

Global reach, local flavour

One of the standout strengths of the partnership is Stingray’s capacity to deliver music channels tailored to regional audiences. In Germany you’ll find channels like Today’s Pop Germany and Schlager; in Korea you’ll get Hot 100 Korea and K‑Pop Summer Hits — all refreshed weekly.

Jim Riley, President of Stingray Music USA, said: “Music is the universal language, and the string that binds us across borders and generations. LG’s Radio+ service is set to become another bond for every LG customer, wherever they may be.”

Chris Jo, Head of the webOS Platform Business Center at LG, added that the partnership reflects LG’s commitment to delivering a wealth of free content, empowering users to enjoy all the content they love at their convenience.

What it means for consumers and the Industry

For consumers, the partnership means more choice and better sound — without a subscription — right on their TVs. Whether it’s tuning into live radio, catching up on podcasts, or discovering new artists via curated channels, it all comes built into LG’s smart TV ecosystem.

From an industry standpoint, the move reinforces a trend: consumer‑electronics brands are increasingly becoming content platforms themselves. By embedding robust streaming experiences directly into their devices, they blur the lines between hardware manufacturer and service provider — and LG is staking its claim in that space.

Looking ahead

The LG–Stingray partnership sets the stage for continued innovation, from more immersive audio features and region-specific content to deeper integration with smart home and entertainment ecosystems. As LG expands its webOS platform and free content portfolio, the value for Smart TV owners continues to grow — and LG Radio+ is evolving not just with more music, but with smarter features, broader reach, and a renewed focus on user experience. Backed by Stingray Music’s content expertise and LG’s platform strength, the service is set to become a standout destination for free, ad-supported audio streaming worldwide.
