Neil Young Archives becomes subscription service with the launch of a free ‘introduction’ service and a paid for unlimited subscription at $1.99/month or $19.99/year. As part of the launch there is a new iOS app which can be downloaded here and the promise of an Android app, both capable of streaming HiRes audio using ‘Xstream by NYA’ – a custom version of Orastream technology. The original archive site was made available free in February 2018 with the intention of making it a subscription service in June 2018 ‘at a modest cost’.
Neil Young describes the Neil Young Archives (NYA) as ‘constantly living, breathing and growing; it’s never going to be complete because we are always finding new material to share with you. NYA is a Music Archive and Time Machine. We like building things. This is a life’s work. It will never be finished.’
