ARIA revamps Australian Charts

ARIA, the Australian Recorded Industry Association, has revamped the way it compiles the Australian record charts giving greater emphasis to paid subscription stream over free ad-supported streams. Streaming up by 35% in Australia for the first half of 2018

Streaming in Australia grew by 35% during the first half of 2018 according to ARIA, the Australian Recording Industry Association. Australia’s music sales jumped 6% in the first half of 2018 continuing to show the market’s return to growth for a fourth year running. Australians stream more, download less and do it more legally

A survey has shown that Australians are consuming more online content since 2015, streaming more and downloading less, according to the Australian Government Department of Communication and Arts. The survey also revealed that there has been an increase in the consumption of lawful content across music, movies, video games and TV programmes collectively.
