The Top 25 UK podcasts for Q1 2025 chart according to Edison Podcast Metrics has been published by Edison Research. Edison Podcast Metrics UK, the only podcast measurement service that measures the relative audience size and demographics of all podcasts and podcast networks in the UK.
The Edison Podcast Metrics Top 25 UK Podcasts of Q1 2025 list is derived from data collected continuously during the first quarter of 2025, interviewing podcast consumers aged 15 and older in the UK. Participants indicate which podcasts they listened to in the past week along with a variety of demographic, psychographic, and purchase-behaviour information.
Goalhanger’s The Rest is Entertainment breaks into the Top 10 for the first time following a steady rise through the rankings since its debut in November 2023. Goalhanger occupies four of the top ten UK podcasts with The Rest Is Politics (#2), The Rest Is History (#4), The Rest Is Football (#5), and The Rest is Entertainment (#9).
The US-based true crime podcast Rotten Mango breaks into the Top 25 for the first time in Q1, mirroring the show’s ascent in the US chart. Host Stephanie Soo currently is providing daily updates from inside the courtroom at the high-profile Sean Combs “Diddy” trial in New York.

Edison Podcast Metrics is unique in that it is not dependent on podcast download data and does not require podcast networks to opt into its service. At least 2,000 weekly podcast listeners in the UK are surveyed each quarter for the service, and listening behaviour is collected regardless of listening platform. The same methodology is being employed in the UK as is used in the US. The first Top Podcast Shows ranker in the US was released by Edison Research in November 2019 and the company has been tracking podcast consumption in the aggregate since 2006.
