Amazon Music to increase subscription plan prices

Amazon Music to increase subscription plan prices in both the UK and the US with effect from the 21st February 2023 for both Individual and Student Plans. The Amazon Music Unlimited Individual Plan is changing from £9.99 to £10.99 per month and the Amazon Music Unlimited Student Plan is changing from £4.99 to £5.99 per month. You will begin seeing the new price on your first bill after that date. If you are in a trial period or part of a promotional offer you will continue to receive the discounted rate for the remainder of your promotion period. Once that period ends, Amazon will honour the original subscription price for one billing cycle. The new pricing will go into effect on the bill after that.

In the US the Amazon Music Unlimited Individual Plan is changing from $9.99 to $10.99 per month and the Amazon Music Unlimited Student Plan is changing from $4.99 to $5.99 per month. The same terms regarding trial and promotional offers will apply.

These increases come hard on the heels of Amazon Music’s recent announcement of price increases in Japan and follow on from Apple’s recent plan price increases. So far Spotify has not made any announcements regarding price increases but potentially gives the streamer the option of matching its competitors. It may make the decision to launch Spotify HiFi at no additional cost a little easier.
