Apple’s iOS 13 adds 100,000 radio stations in a new partnership with TuneIn which gives listeners access on all Siri-enabled devices and Apple Music. The collaboration coincides with the introduction of a new radio experience on Apple devices which includes iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, CarPlay and HomePod.

TuneIn brings their long-time integration expertise to Apple by offering sports fans, news devotees and radio enthusiasts alike the ability to hear the voices they trust on their favourite Siri-enabled devices with just a simple voice command. For example, just ask Siri to play FOX News Talk, Clemson Football, or regional radio favourites such as Heart UK, RTL Germany, NRJ France, ABC Australia or CBC Canada to directly launch the TuneIn listening experience. The complete feature is being rolled out to Apple Music and all Siri-enabled devices across various stages now.

Tony Archibong, Vice President, Distribution & Business Development, TuneIn said, “We are thrilled to join forces with Apple and be a part of the company’s ecosystem on a global scale. As our 75 million users around the world can attest, radio is one of the most popular categories of audio listening on connected devices, and this important partnership serves to heighten our user experience and be everywhere our listener is.”

TuneIn’s radio stations can be accessed worldwide in 197 countries on more than 200 different platforms and devices and this will now be extended to more than 50 million Apple Music subscribers and over 1.4 billion active Apple devices around the world. TuneIn currently has 75 million monthly active users, broadcasts over 100,000 owned and operated and partner radio stations globally and more offers more than 5.7 million podcasts. Premium subscribers can listen to the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL, commercial-free top news networks like MSNBC, CNBC, and Fox News Talk, and a wide array of commercial-free music stations.
