Local music dominates Italian charts in 2019 with 9 out of the top ten albums being Italian according to FIMI the Italian recorded music industry association. Colpa della Favole by Ultimo was the top album followed by Playlist Live by Salmo and in third place Machete Mixtape 4 by Machete.

The only international name in the Top Ten is Queen, in tenth place with Bohemian Rhapsody, while the first female artist is positioned at number 15 – Billie Eilish with When we all fall asleep, where do we go?

The top ‘Digital Single’ (download and premium streaming) is Fred De Palma, who with Ana Mena ranks first with Una volta ancora followed by È sempre bello by Coez and Calma (Remix) by Pedro Capó in a chart dominated by Italian music. Only two international singles find a place in the top ten reversing a trend where international songs lead the charts.

Streaming dominates Italian consumption with over 37.5 Bn streams (both premium and free) and represents a 48% growth compared to a year ago.

The top spot in the vinyl chart has stayed the same as in the previous year with The dark side of the moon by Pink Floyd in top place and Sanremo Festival leading the compilation chart.
