Spotify upgrades its Apple Watch app with improved playback and download options. You will be able to more easily browse and choose your favourite music and podcasts in Your Library, as well as more quickly download music to listen offline from the watch itself. There’s also a new sleek design with larger artwork, animations, and added functionality – like swiping to like a song. It’s also easier to spot new episodes marked with a blue dot so you won’t miss fresh episodes of your favourite podcasts.

These features are only available on the latest version and so users will need to update their app.

Other improvements to Spotify’s device support announced at the same time include the ability to access Spotify via the Ambient mode on the Amazon Fire TV QLED Omni Series. The Ambient Experience proactively shows helpful information throughout the day and provides hands-free access to your favourite music and Spotify recommendations. It also allows you to flick through albums, songs, and playlists using the remote control, or via Spotify Connect on your phone or tablet.
