German music sales continued to grow in 2024 with revenue reaching €2.38 Bn – up 7.8% on 2023 according to the BVMI in recently released figures. The majority of sales, 84.1%, were generated from the digital business, which grew by 11.2%, driven by audio streaming (+12.6%), which now has a market share of 78.1%. Germany had 236 Bn streams in 2024 according to figures by the BVMI from data compiled by GfK Entertainment. This was 11% more than 2023 when 213 Bn streams were achieved. Within the last 6 years the number has more than doubled – in 2019 there were 108 Bn views.
