YouTube Music gets new Explore tab and song lyrics

YouTube Music gets new Explore tab and song lyrics and is rolling out these features to both its iOS and Android apps for both free and paid subscriptions. In the Explore tab you can find new releases and browse playlists by mood and Song Lyrics to sing along to your favourites. Both these features have been available to a small subset of users for a couple of months but have now been released to all users. Static lyrics will be shown wherever they are available but there are still gaps in coverage.

How to find new releases

You can now find new music including singles, albums and music videos on Explore. Tapping on the “See all” button in the top-right will take you to the new “Albums & singles” page where you can browse a long list of new music (and not just the 10 most recent albums or singles like it was previously).

How to browse moods & genres

You can also browse the catalogue of curated playlists and find music that fits your current mood by tapping on options like Chill, Focus, Feel-Good, Party & more.

The new version of the app can be downloaded from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).
