Ministry of Sound playlists come to Apple Music

Exclusive deal sees Spotify lose popular dance lists

Apple Music has signed an exclusive deal with the Ministry of Sound to stream its popular dance playlists such as Dance Nation and Rave Nation. As a consequence of the deal these playlists, some of which have hundreds of thousands of followers, will be removed from Spotify and other non-Apple services over the course of the next few days. This is likely to disappoint a considerable number of Spotify subscribers as the Dance Nation playlist alone has over 273,000 followers.

Apple Music has been aggressively marketing its streaming service in recent months and putting on an impressive number of new subscribers. However, it is still falling behind its major rival Spotify and exclusives are a great way to differentiate streaming services, tempt new users and encourage existing subscribers to switch products.
