Sonos is to support Apple Music spatial audio starting from the 28th March 2023 representing a significant expansion of its next-gen sound experience offerings.

Spatial audio delivers a multi-dimensional immersive sound experience that is fast becoming a primary recording format among leading artists, producers and engineers. Available on Sonos Era 300 (pictured above), Arc, and Beam (Gen 2), Apple Music with spatial audio will place listeners at the centre of their music with an ever-growing catalogue of tracks and expertly curated playlists featuring renowned artists across all genres.

Giles Martin, VP of Sound Experience at Sonos said, “It’s a thrilling time in music as spatial audio – and the artist creativity that comes with it – continues to grow. Sonos continues to put its listeners at the forefront of sound innovation, ensuring they have access through Apple Music to transformative experiences like spatial audio with Dolby Atmos, so they can feel more from the content they love.”

Recently announced (and available from the 28th March 2023) the Sonos Era 300 has been designed for spatial audio and can be used both stand-alone or as part of a multi-channel surround system. When used as home cinema rears, movie fans can pair two speakers with Arc or Beam (Gen 2) to create an immersive Dolby Atmos experience. Era 300 also comes with Sonos Trueplay which uses an internal microphone array to optimise its output to the unique acoustics of your space with just a tap in the Sonos app. It is available to both Android and iOS users.
