SuperStereo 1, an 80s genre internet radio station, is to go HiRes in full 24-bit/96kHz from the 1st September 2021. The station has been converting its entire vinyl catalogue to this format including a significant number of albums in SACD. Erick Jegó, CEO SuperStereo Radio Chile said, “We want to offer the maximum possible audio experience to our listeners, especially in the style of the 80s.” He added, “Much of this music is not available in such high quality on the web.”

SuperStereo joins the ranks of HiRes Internet Radio stations such as Mother Earth Radio which is broadcasting a 24-bit/96kHz stream and Radio Paradise which offers a HiRes stream using MQA technology for BluOS enabled hifi devices in addition to its CD Quality, AAC and MP3 streams.

SuperStereo 1 is continuing to broadcast in 16-bit CD Quality Lossless FLAC while the transition to HiRes is in progress but when it re-launches it can be found on http://198.204.228.202:8160/flac or via the web player on its site. SuperStereo Radio Chile’s other 3 channels (2,3 and 4) can be found on http://www.superstereoradiochile.com/.
