Spotify to launch HiFi plan in selected markets beginning later this year in CD Quality Lossless streaming. The announcement was made this week in an online event called ‘Stream On’. The new service will be called Spotify HiFi and the streamer offered the following five things about their new high quality music experience.

  1. High-quality music streaming is consistently one of the most requested new features by Spotify users.
  2. Spotify HiFi will deliver music in CD Quality, lossless audio format to your device and Spotify Connect-enabled speakers, which means users will be able to experience more depth and clarity while enjoying their favourite tracks.
  3. Ubiquity is at the core of everything that Spotify does and it is working with some of the world’s biggest speaker manufacturers to make Spotify HiFi accessible to as many users as possible through Spotify Connect.
  4. HiFi will be coupled with Spotify’s seamless user experience, building on their commitment to make sure users can listen to the music they love in the way they want to enjoy it.
  5. Spotify HiFi will begin rolling out in select markets later this year.

The company promised more details would be available ‘soon’.

Spotify sponsored American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish and record producer FINNEAS to talk about the importance of high-quality audio options for creators and fans in a YouTube video.
