In the beginning of March SuperStereo Radio Chile closed down its latest channel – SuperStereo 8. In an email to one of its listeners it said, “SuperStereo 8 closed its broadcasts, our corporate building contains 7 departments for each station plus the technical and administrative area, so we will focus only on the 7 existing stations on our website.”
SuperStereo 8 was a soul and ballads from the 70s, 80s and 90s genre channel broadcasting a HiRes 24-bit/96kHz Lossless FLAC stream.
SuperStereo Radio Chile will continue broadcasting its other 7 channels of music in HiRes 24-bit/96kHz Lossless FLAC. According to the station, “SuperStereo Radio Chile is the first in South America broadcasting in high resolution. SuperStereo, the station for the audiophile.” SuperStereo 1 plays New Wave, Adult Pop music, SuperStereo 2 plays Oldies 50’s 60’s music, SuperStereo 3 plays Pop Dance and House, SuperStereo 4 plays AOR, West Coast music, SuperStereo 5 plays Adult Rock, SuperStereo 6 plays Instrumental music and SuperStereo 7 plays Jazz.
The recently released Android app supports all of SuperStereo’s 7 channels in both AAC and HiRes FLAC.
