Mother Earth Radio is an internet radio station which broadcasts 4 channels of HiRes 24-bit Lossless FLAC with both 192kHz and 96 kHz streams. There are also AAC and MP3 streams available via their webplayer and also as direct stream links.
The station is also available via Alexa and there is an Android app (not free) which can be downloaded here.
According to Florian Reiterer, the station’s creator, their USP is “that we value the positive effects of listening to high resolution audio that is also tuned to a special chamber root note.” He adds, “The music on Mother Earth Radio is curated by my philosophical views. In a nutshell, I only play music that tells about bravery, love and joy, also tales of grief of course, but nothing of the devil, hatred, violence and dependency.” For a fuller explanation of the station’s philosophy and why there is this quite unusual mix of genres can be found in their paper ‘What’s it all about’.
Founded in February 2020, the station has been continuously evolving and in 2023 the station upgraded its channels from 96kHz to 192kHz and added its fourth channel dedicated to Jazz. 2024 saw a new website design, the addition of a Blog and Podcasts, a discussion on Faslak’s tone (429Hz) and multi-language support. In 2025, 96kHz streams were added back giving the option of streaming FLAC in either 96kHz or 192kHz. User registration was also added to the site although access remains free.
